HCM CITY — Vietnam Airlines has officially launched a direct flight between Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and Denpasar, Bali (DPS)—marking its second route to Indonesia after Jakarta.

The inaugural flight, VN641, on June 1 carried 161 passengers and landed in Bali after a four hour, 35-minute journey, where passengers were welcomed with souvenirs.

This move strengthens Vietnam Airlines’ presence in Southeast Asia and aims to meet rising tourism demand between Việt Nam and Indonesia.

Initially, the airline will operate four round trips per week on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with plans to increase to daily service starting next month.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia, Tạ Văn Thông highlighted the route as a symbol of growing ties between the two countries. The route also supports Vietnam Airlines' broader international connectivity by linking with flights to Europe, Northeast Asia, India and the US. — VNS
