ĐÀ NẴNG — Đà Nẵng's tourism industry is set to see dramatic growth from the Middle East this June as the world’s largest international airline, Emirates, is starting a new air route from Dubai to Đà Nẵng via Bangkok.
Starting on June 2, the airline is planning to run four flights per week on the new route.
The tourism hub also expects to host travellers from European countries including the UK, France and Germany, and Thailand, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait via Dubai-connected flights.
In 2024, Đà Nẵng welcomed 17,000 visitors – a 0.73 per cent share of total international travellers – from the Middle East market, including mostly Arab countries along with Israel and Turkey, according to the city’s Culture, Sports and Tourism department.
Previously, Emirates had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with local property developer and tourism service provider Sun Group to promote Việt Nam’s tourism programmes on the carrier's global flights network.
Đà Nẵng City is the Emirates’ third gateway into Việt Nam, after Hà Nội and HCM City.
The airline will operate four flights each week to Đà Nẵng on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and will be using a Boeing 777 aircraft on the new route. — VNS
