HCM CITY — Singapore developer CapitaLand Group, through its philanthropic arm CapitaLand Hope Foundation, has pledged up to S$500,000 (US$389,000) to provide 30 graduating primary school students from three CapitaLand Hope Schools in Việt Nam with long-term scholarships.
The scholarships will be awarded based on a holistic evaluation that considers family context, academic performance, personal conduct, and a demonstrated dedication to learning.
The programme aims to support the students in their transition to junior high school and beyond by supporting essential learning-related expenses, including textbooks, uniforms, health insurance, and other school necessities.
Jaselyn Wan, head of residential operations of CLD Vietnam, said: “Investing in a child’s education is investing in our future. Our commitment goes beyond infrastructure—it’s about creating opportunities and building resilient communities. As CapitaLand marks 20 years of giving through CapitaLand Hope Foundation this year, we remain committed to uplifting communities and welcome more partners to join us in shaping brighter futures.”
Since 2011 CapitaLand has donated around S$3.6 million to various organisations in Viet Nam, impacting the lives of over 19,000 children and youths through initiatives focused on education, healthcare and overall well-being. VNS
