Vietjet's compounded annual growth rate and return on equity were 23 per cent and 45 per cent in 2019, respectively.
Budget airline Vietjet was recognised as one of the top three best-performing companies on Viet Nam's stock exchange in 2019 during an awards ceremony in HCM City late last week.
The ranking is part of the 'Viet Nam’s best-performing companies' list that honours 50 leading enterprises in the local stock market. Also included were Mobile World and Vietcombank.
According to the results announced at the event, Vietjet's compounded annual growth rate and return on equity were 23 per cent and 45 per cent over past three years, respectively.
With market capitalisation reaching US$2.23 billion, Vietjet is also among the largest capitalised enterprises on the stock market. Since listing on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange in 2017, Vietjet has always been among the three best-performing companies receiving this award.
In 2019, Vietjet maintained its position in the local aviation market, transporting 25 million passengers. It was also one of the leading regional airlines in terms of technical reliability rate.
After the domestic aviation market was restored earlier this year, Vietjet launched the campaign 'Returning to the sky' and opened new eight domestic routes, expanding its domestic flight network to 53 routes.
'Viet Nam’s 50 Best Performing Companies' is a ranking conducted annually in consultation with economic and business experts. The list evaluates the business results of firms for three consecutive years, based on revenue, return on equity and earnings per share. — VNS
