HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Viet Nam is a potential market for leather goods, especially in middle and high-end segments, thanks to improving living standards and a growing consumer culture.

Nguyen Thi Anh Ngoc, marketing manager of the Euro-Asia Trade Joint Stock Company, made these comments to Viet Nam News on the side line of Spring Summer Private Show 2016, which took place last week in the capital city.

To tap into such a promising market, the company has established a distribution system, called Gurkha, to provide Vietnamese customers with genuine European leather products sold by well-known world brands.

Gurkha reported an annual growth of 150 per cent in the past three years, Ngoc said, adding that her company strives to ensure such positive growth in the future.

To date, Gurkha has opened 17 stores nationwide that sell 10 international brands, Ngoc said.

As part of the Spring Summer Private Show 2016, set to be held in five other localities, including HCM City, Can Tho, Da Nang, Vinh and Hai Phong, Gurkha will introduce five Italian leather brands that it sells to local consumers. — VNS
