Ahead the 2016 International Marathon Tournament, Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol of Thailand and other Thai Royal members last weekend visited the northern province of Lào Cai to trek to Fansipan mountain, Indochina's highest peak.

From Sapa Town, Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol and her escorts went to the Fansipan cable car station to discover the beauty of the Hoang Lien Son Mountain and the forest at the so-called roof of Indochina.

The period between September and October is the best time to
capture the beauty of the terraced fields in the Muong Hoa Valley.

Being a jogging and hiking enthusiast, Thai Princess Mahidol easily completed the 600 steps hike to the Fansipan Peak on a cold and frosty day without any support from the Thai Royal officers.

The princess said standing at the Fansipan Peak holding Thailand's national flag was a very memorable moment and a reminder of the deep friendship between the two countries. She said she will share images of her visit to the roof of Indochina on her personal pages.

During the trip, the princess also visited ethnic and minority villages in Sapa Town.— VNS
