QUANG NAM (Biz Hub) — Vina Mazda has recalled 170 Mazda3 1.5L car models, out of 4,000 vehicles in the country, for repairs to the Check-Engine signal appearing on the car's warning light since October.
The Truong Hai Automobile Company (THACO), said in a statement on December 3 that experts from Japan found that soot in the fuel sprayer was the main reason for the Check-Engine warning light.
The company said these cars have received free cleaning of the fuel sprayer with a ‘Deposit Cleaner' at authorised service centres nationwide following suggestions from Japanese experts of Mazda.
Experts from Mazda Japan also suggested to car users that they buy fuel from authorised filling stations for better and cleaner gasoline.
Thaco also provided free service of cleaning the fuel sprayer at service centres to Mazda3 buyers whose warranties had expired.
According to the Viet Nam Competition Authority under the ministry of Industry and Trade, some customers complained that the warning light of the Check-Engine appeared on their Mazda3 cars in early October, and they were anxious to resolve the problem.
The authority also cautioned all users of the Mazda3 1.5l model to take their cars for repairs to authorised service centres only.
Vina Mazda said 15,000 Mazda car models were sold in the first 10 months this year in Viet Nam, making it the most developed Japanese car brand in the country's market with The CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle) CX-5, Mazda3, and Mazda2, in addition to Mazda2 and 3 All-New, and Mazda 6.
Mazda was the bestselling model in the Viet Nam market with an accumulated 4,500 cars in 10 months this year, registering a 157 per cent growth compared to the same time last year.
Thaco, the largest automobile maker in Viet Nam has produced and already distributed vehicles for three manufacturers including Kia from South Korea, Mazda from Japan and French giant Peugeot.
The local car maker expected to sell over 78,000 commercial cars, trucks, and buses with revenues of $2 billion in 2015. — VNS
