Three company members of Tetra Laval Group, including Tetra Pak, Sidel and DeLaval, donated medical equipment worth VND2 billion (US$87,500) to the Centre for Disease Control of Ha Nam Province at a ceremony on Wednesday.

The donation, including the DNA Extractor Kit and the real-time PCR analyser, which is the key medical equipment for the COVID-19 virus test, will help improve the capacity of the province’s healthcare system, especially in COVID-19 prevention.

“The global COVID-19 outbreak has brought about never-before challenges in our daily lives, and we remain deeply concerned for all those affected by the pandemic. We are committed to playing our part in ensuring continuous food supplies in the country, while maintaining important measures to ensure the health and safety of the community, our employees and all those involved in our operations,” a representative of Tetra Laval Group said.

This is part of the Tetra Laval Group’s recent donation of 10 million euro to support global efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

As of Wednesday morning, Viet Nam reported no new community transmission cases over the past 41 days. The country's confirmed COVID-19 cases stands at 327, of which 278 have been given the all-clear and no deaths have been reported. — VNS
