Starbucks will officially on Saturday launch the second-phase loyalty programme with the introduction of the new Starbucks card, a cashless payment system, and a mobile app to provide two fast and convenient ways for customers to make payments.

From Saturday, customers can visit any Starbucks store in Viet Nam to activate their cards.

They could load money, pay and earn reward stars easily, Starbucks said.

The app enables customers to quickly pay for in-store purchases by scanning a barcode linked to certain kinds of cards.

The company has also introduced new beverages for Christmas including snowball dark mocha, ginger bread latte and toffee nut crunch latte.

At the card launch ceremony, Patricia Marques, general manager of Starbucks Vietnam, told Viet Nam News the beverage chain was growing strongly in the country.

It plans to expand further this year, going to new provinces and cities and opening new stores in Ha Noi, Da Nang and HCM City, she added. — VNS
