Standard Chartered Vietnam has opened its new flagship branch in Ha Noi, Thang Long.

Located on the ground floor of the Grade A office complex Capital Place Building, Thang Long Branch is built with a modern, world-class design to provide clients differentiated and superior bank experience. It also offers an unrivalled level of convenience thanks to its strategic location which is right at the heart of Ha Noi.

“As an international bank with 118 years of history in Viet Nam, we have been a consistent and reliable institution committed to supporting Viet Nam’s sustainable growth," Michele Wee, CEO for Viet Nam, Standard Chartered Vietnam said.

"We remain fully committed to Viet Nam and to our clients, partners, community and people. With our world-class suite of products, services, distribution channels and systems, we provide our clients with increasingly sophisticated and pioneering banking services. We have been and will continue investing more resources in our local franchise to better serve our clients and capture the opportunities that the market offers.

Harmander Mahal, head of Consumer, Private and Business Banking for Viet Nam and Asia Cluster Markets at Standard Chartered Bank, said: “Viet Nam offers strong growth potential for retail banking business given its growing middle-class populations and a high ratio of people remaining unbanked.

"Standard Chartered aspires to be the bank of choice for the affluent and emerging affluent. Along with focusing on digital banking capabilities to allow our clients to bank with us anytime, anywhere conveniently and securely, we continue to be well prepared for clients who want to visit us physically and with confidence will deliver recommendations and solutions which meet their needs and risk appetites.”

The new branch is part of Standard Chartered Vietnam’s retail banking strategy, which leverages digital capabilities, combined with its physical presence, to provide clients with exceptional banking experience.

The bank also plans to centralise its operations in Ha Noi by relocating its head office and two other existing offices in the city to Capital Place, occupying the third floor of the building, in June 2022. — VNS
