Shopee accelerates region’s digital economy with 200 million items sold on 11.11 Big Sale


Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, created a big impact with its 11.11 Big Sale, saying it built on its vision to make e-commerce accessible to everyone.

Users watched over 20 million hours on Shopee Live and played Shopee’s in-app games over 2.5 billion times, getting fun and value throughout the 11.11 Big Sale.

Campaign creates new milestones for businesses, excites consumers

Shopee set new records on 11 November powered by tremendous support from consumers and businesses in each of its seven markets. It saw robust sales momentum throughout the whole of the day, uplifting businesses in the region.

Sellers participating in the 11.11 Big Sale for the first time saw 10 times more orders than on an average day, as Shopee unlocked new opportunities for entrepreneurs and SMEs.

Consumers gathered at Shopee across the 11.11 Big Sale period to shop, play and forge meaningful interactions.

More than 20 million hours of live streams were watched on Shopee Live, while Shopee’s in-app games were played more than 2.5 billion times.

In Viet Nam, the 11.11 Big Sale created a spike in shopping activity as people turned to Shopee for the best deals from their favourite brands and sellers, while enjoying greater convenience through Shopee’s eco-system.

Key trends included a surge in demand for electronics with over 8,000 Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S smartphones sold as people upgraded their gadgets.

Vietnamese turned to Shopee for beauty needs. Health and Beauty continued to be best sellers, with 16,000 bottles of L'Oreal Paris 3-in-1 Micellar Water sold.

The demand was strong in major cities. More than 600,000 items were sold in an hour in Hà Nội at the peak of November 11.

The surge in shopping activity on November 11 created tangible growth for local businesses. For instance, one fashion seller recorded over VND2 billion in sales as Shopee drove a surge in shopping activity.
