Sense City department store opens in Ben Tre


Sai Gon-Ben Tre Trading Company Limited opened a Sense City department store in Ben Tre city on January 19, its second such store in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta.

BEN TRE (Biz Hub) — Sai Gon-Ben Tre Trading Company Limited, a joint venture between supermarket operator Saigon Co.op and Saigon Co.op Investment Development Joint Stock Company, opened a Sense City department store in Ben Tre city on January 19, its second such store in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta.

The 15,000sq.m Sense City Ben Tre cost more than VND100 billion (US$4.46 million) and offers a full range of shopping, dining, and recreational services.

It has a Co.opmart supermarket; shops selling well-known fashion products, jewellery, and cosmetics; a bookstore; food court; modern entertainment facilities; and Galaxy cinemas of international quality available for the first time in the province.

Nguyen Thi Tranh, deputy general director of Saigon Co.op and general director of SCID, said Sense City is meant to diversify retail models for the company to better meet the varied shopping demands in the market.

At the inauguration, the two companies took an oath to help maintain 79 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in the province until their last days and also donated VND100 million to the provincial Fund for the Poor.

To celebrate the opening, the mall is offering discounts of up to 50 per cent on hundreds of products until January 31 and gifting helmets to customers buying for over VND800,000. — VNS
