HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management and automation, has selected 100 teams for the semi-finals of its sixth annual edition of ‘Go Green in the City' student competition.

These teams would work closely with Schneider Electric mentors to develop their ideas into a compelling business case, focusing on implications, user needs, viability and return on investment, the company said in its statement.

The East Asia Finals will be held on June 10. On July 15, 12 teams will be chosen to compete in the final stage that will be held in Paris from September 19 to 22.

Launched in 2011, Go Green in the City provides business and engineering students (second-year undergraduate or higher) a powerful opportunity to showcase innovative energy management ideas for building smarter cities.

"Go Green in the City resonates strongly with students because of growing concern about the effects of urbanisation, climate change and resource scarcity," Melissa Golden, Schneider Electric's director for Global Talent Acquisition Programmes, said.

"Young people are genuinely interested in making a difference to the world's future," she said. — VNS
