HCM CITY — Saigon Co.op has kicked off its “Chuyến xe hạnh phúc 2025” (Happy Bus) programme to provide free bus tickets to 900 workers seeking to return to their hometowns for the Lunar New Year (Tết) on January 29.

This is an initiative under the Co.op Cares community and social programme.

Passengers will receive a Tết gift hamper before they leave along with sponsorship covering their travel expenses and free meals and drinks throughout the journey.

Starting from HCM City and Hà Nội, 20 "Happiness Buses" will take the passengers to their hometowns in the central and Central Highlands regions. When the buses pass through localities that have Co.opmart stores, local staff will provide the passengers with water and food.

In its third year now, the programme has received widespread acclaim and support from big brands like Unilever, Coca-Cola, Wilmar Marketing CLV, Nestlé, and Kinh Do Tết by Mondelez Kinh Do.

To register, passengers can visit the programme's official website at https://chuyenxehanhphucsaigoncoop.vn/ or scan the QR codes displayed at all Co.opmart or Co.opXtra outlets in HCM City and Hà Nội.

Registration is open until December 31.

The buses are scheduled to depart on January 25, 2025.

In another development, from December 19 to January 1, 2025, Saigon Co.op will carry out a programme called “Tân niên phú quý, mua sắm như ý” across its 800 retail locations nationwide spanning the Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smile, Finelife, Cheers, Sense City, and Sense Market brands.

It will feature attractive promotions on several products, including health and ready-to-eat foods meant for year-end and New Year gatherings.

Cleaning and laundry products will also carry big discounts to help consumers make over their homes for Tết.

Promotions and deals tied to bill conditions have brought the prices of select Tết items at Co.opmart and Co.opXtra down to as low as VNĐ1,000, ensuring affordable shopping for everyone. — VNS
