Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank) has become the first bank to trial a device for contactless card payment at SFC gas station No. 4 (167 Dien Bien Phu Street, Ward 15, Binh Thanh District, HCM City) to provide consumers with a safe and modern payment method and also respond to the Government's policy on promoting non-cash payments.
Customers can pay by touching the Sacombank contactless card on the payment machine at the pump. After the payment is successful, they can pump the fuel themselves if they like.
Besides, this year, when they make payment for fuel using a Sacombank Visa contactless card, they will receive a gift of a lovely keychain.
Sacombank will also install contactless payment devices at the 16 remaining SFC petrol stations in the city.
Since 2012 Sacombank has been stepping up investment to upgrade its e-banking services and non-cash payment technologies such as merging its internet banking and mobile banking platforms to offer greater convenience to customers.
It also uses technologies to create new payment trends such as contactless cards, payment using QR codes and others.
It offers many non-cash payment services such as for taxes and invoices, domestic and foreign money transfers and online payments for public services (electricity, water, school fees, and healthcare).
It is a pioneer in enabling non-cash payments to educational institutions through the SSC (school smart cards) project under the HCM City Department of Education and Training, which covers more than 320 schools in the city. Sacombank has now expanded the programme to schools in Can Tho and Da Nang to enable people to pay tuition fees quickly and conveniently. — VNS
