Sacombank continues to join hands with the Vietnam Youth Federation to organise the second phase of online walking/running programme "Steps for the Community" from August 29 to September 23 to raise funds for building a community cultural house for ethnic minorities.
Opened in Hoang Su Phi District in Ha Giang Province on August 29, the programme takes place on a national scale and is open to all participants.
For each kilometre a participant walks or run, Sacombank will contribute VND1,000 to the fund to build a community cultural house for Lu ethnic minority people in Ban Hon Commune in Tam Duong District in Lai Chau Province.
The programme’s registration portal is open until 11:59pm on September 23 at the website www.sacombankrunnersclub.com.
The programme started recording the number of kilometres participants completed from 0:00 on August 29 to 11:59pm on September 23.
Participants can walk or run, with an average speed of 4 minutes/km to 20 minutes/km.
In addition, athletes with a minimum cumulative kilometres from 100km will have the opportunity to participate in a lucky draw programme, which will select the 200 luckiest people to receive rewards from the programme including one metal medal and one "Steps for the Community” t-shirt with a unique design.
Previously, from June 28 to the end of July 26, the first phase of the "Steps for the Community" walk/run was held with more than 14,500 people participating, contributing more VND1 billion (US$43,075) to build a cultural house for Chut ethnic minority people living in Quang Binh Province. — VNS
