Petrovietnam Petrochemical and Textile Fiber JSC (PVTEX) has supplied nearly 1,000 tonnes of Drawn Textured Yarn (DTY) yarn for the market after nearly five months re-operating its DTY yarn production lines, according to the company.
Drawn Textured Yarn (DTY) yarn is obtained when Polyester POY is simultaneously twisted and drawn. It is mainly used as part of weaving and knitting of fabrics to make garments, home decorations, seat covers, bags and more.
PVTEXT has always focused on factors that determine product quality, including retraining workers, good maintenance of machinery and equipment, and standardisation of processes.
The company has also invited German experts to give training and technical support for yarn production, during which they commented the firm’s machinery and equipment is stable and effective.
PVTEX has also asked the Institute of Textile Testing Hohenstein of Germany to inspect and evaluate the quality of products according to the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® of the US. OEKO TEX Standard 100 is an independent product label for textiles tested for harmful substances – from yarns and fabrics to ready-to-use items.
As a result, in August, the polyester fiber products of PVTEX continued to receive STANDARD 100 certification.
Now, PVTEX products have been supplied for not only domestic customers but also customers in South Korea and Japan. — VNS
