HCM CITY — Singapore-based property technology company PropertyGuru Group, the parent company of Batdongsan.com.vn, a property listing platform in Việt Nam, has announced that Lewis Ng will take over as its new CEO in March.

He will replace Hari V. Krishnan, who has decided to pursue new interests but will continue to be closely involved with PropertyGuru as senior advisor to the board once the new CEO is in place.

Lewis has held leadership roles at global brands like Apple, TripAdvisor and Southeast Asian unicorns Carousell and PropertyGuru.

During his nearly six years in an earlier stint at PropertyGuru until 2019 he served as managing director of Singapore and chief business officer for the group.

Most recently, as chief operating officer at SEEK Asia, he transformed the region’s leading job marketplace into a best-in-class career platform.

He also serves as a board director at Zhaopin, a prominent employment marketplace in China.

PropertyGuru has also announced the appointment of a new board of directors, with Trevor Mather assuming the role of chairman.

He previously served as CEO of Auto Trader, which he transformed into a fully digital platform and positioned it as a leader in the UK automotive market.

He is currently chairman of Baltic Classifieds Group.

Other members of the new board are Janice Leow, a partner in the EQT Private Capital Asia advisory team and head of EQT Private Capital Southeast Asia, and Ed Williams, founder and ex-CEO of UK’s leading property marketplace Rightmove, chairman of Trade Me in New Zealand and ex-chairman of Auto Trader.

Speaking about his decision, Krishnan said: “After an incredible decade I have decided that the time is right for me to pursue new interests and for the company to transition to new leadership.

“I am confident he [Lewis] will bring a fresh perspective to our organisation whilst staying deeply aligned with our vision and values.”

Ng expressed his enthusiasm for returning to PropertyGuru.

“I am honoured to lead PropertyGuru in its next chapter and work alongside our talented teams to continue driving growth and delivering value to our customers across Southeast Asia.”
