Royal Philips, a global leader in health technology, and Buon Ma Thuot University have signed a multi-year strategic partnership agreement on a turn-key smart hospital solution to deliver high-quality healthcare services to Dak Lak and surrounding areas, reducing the need for residents to travel to large cities for healthcare services.
Philips will equip the Buon Ma Thuot Medical and Pharmaceutical University Hospital with some of the world’s most advanced imaging and therapy, smart patient monitoring and healthcare IT solutions.
Additionally, it will provide workflow and design consultancy and training along with financing solutions with the support of the Government of the Netherlands where Philips is headquartered.
The new hospital will have a 500-bed capacity spread across 5.4ha within the Buon Ma Thuot University area. The first phase with a 200-bed capacity is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2021.
Modelled after the smart hospital of the future, the hospital will be equipped with some of the latest digital healthcare solutions from Philips.
The core benefits include the acceleration of clinical decisions by caregivers, having a standardised offering to allow seamless integration across the hospital, and smart solutions such as patient monitors, fetal and maternal monitors, and emergency and therapeutic care to ease the workload of healthcare professionals.
Hugo Luik, country manager, Philips Vietnam, said: “As countries like Viet Nam rise to meet evolving, growing population healthcare needs, tapping digital healthcare solutions and shifting towards value-based care can enable hospitals to enhance their ability to provide higher quality of patient care with a lower cost to a wider demographic.
“Our long-term strategic partnership with the Buon Ma Thuot Medical and Pharmaceutical University Hospital marks a step change towards the future of Viet Nam’s smart hospitals, enabling doctors and nurses to be more confident in clinical decisions and patient care, supported by our latest healthcare innovations.”
Prof. Dr. Cao Tien Duc, president of Buon Ma Thuot University, said: “We aim to create an interactive ecosystem in which the university is at the centre, and consists of education and training, scientific research and professional medical practice that can efficiently utilise resources and complement each other.
“This model will help the university improve the quality of education and healthcare that sets a solid foundation for the university to be a Research Centre of Health Science in Dak Lak Province.” — VNS
