Phenikaa Group and its subsidiary, Vicostone Joint Stock Company, have been honoured as two of the country's top 100 sustainable businesses in 2022.

The Corporate Sustainability Index Programme (CSI 100), organised by the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development under the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, has been known as one of the top prestigious awards to access the sustainable development of businesses in Viet Nam since 2016.

Via a thorough assessment covering four areas; sustainable development, administration, environment and labour, the programme seeks to honour pioneering enterprises with responsible business conduct, encouraging the firms to apply the Sustainable Business Index (CSI) in corporate governance as leverage to foster sustainable development.

In over a decade of development, Phenikaa Group has prioritised sustainable development as a backbone for all production and business activities, confirming its position as a multi-sector economic group with about 30 domestic and international subsidiaries, with a vision to become the leading technology and industrial corporation in the future, on the basis of smart production, smart technology, and smart materials.

The group has built a proactive and sustainable ecosystem based on the strength of innovation capabilities with the 3-Centre model, including business, education and training, and scientific research.

In the field of education and training, Phenikaa has developed a system of educational institutions qualified for international standards from primary to secondary education (Phenikaa School) and higher education (Phenikaa University).

In the scientific research area, Phenikaa has built five research centres and research institutes with advanced machinery and equipment to support more than 20 high-profile research groups.

The group also expanded its presence in the technology sector with the debuts of self-driving technology, digital map and natural lighting technology for human health Phenikaa Natural TrueCircardian.

Typically in electronic industry, mechatronics and ecological materials, it owns the VICOSTONE® brand, one of the top three largest global suppliers of engineered stone countertops with more than 10,000 distributors in 50 countries and two manufacturing companies.

With a strong foundation in medical, pharmaceutical training, and scientific research, Phenikaa has been also investing in the healthcare field in the areas of medicine, pharmacy, and nursing to provide training and supply, as high-quality human resources in this field are considered scarce in Viet Nam.

On the principle of economic development in parallel with social community development and response to the ecological environment, the Three Centres in Phenikaa Ecosystem operates in an exclusive cycle from training, research, commercial production and packaging to sales. This model plays an important role in the group's proactive and sustainable development strategy, Phenikaa Group has said. — VNS
