The unique-tasting and responsibly-sourced chocolate, 60 DAYS, is the first product of Puratos Grand - Place Indochina (PGPI) and the Puratos Group to get the Carbon Neutral certification by CO2logic, a Belgium company pioneering environmental advisory.

60DAYS Chocolate goes beyond industry standards. It aims to reinvent the chocolate process by combining fermentation in wooden acacia boxes with a slow roast method to create ‘tree to bar’ chocolate in 60 days.

This process generates lower emissions. Customers benefit from a fresher and more flavorsome product, with low sugar content.

To qualify for carbon-neutral certification, 60DAYS Chocolate met the requirements of the Carbon Neutral Product Standard from CO2logic, including calculations of emissions from-farm-to-chocolate.

CO2logic evaluated the greenhouse gas emissions of all activities that produce 60DAYS with the following: purchase of ingredients (cocoa and others); transport of ingredients to the factory; energy consumption to produce; packaging of the product; transport to the final recipient. CO2logic supports companies and institutions worldwide in defining and implementing ambitious and integrated sustainability strategies to meet the climate challenge.

In December 2021, PGPI proudly became the first entity of the global Puratos Group to achieve the Carbon Neutral Certificate in business operations.

Gricha Safarian, managing director of PGPI, said achieving this certification is a part of the company’s sustainability commitments.

A great chocolate product must not only have a good taste but also a green production, he said.

“We want to empower consumers and our customers to make better, more informed, more sustainable choices,” he said.

PGPI is a joint venture between Puratos Group and Grand-Place Holding. Both companies have roots in Belgium and made their first investment in Viet Nam more than 20 years ago.
