HCM CITY — Nghệ An Friendship General Hospital and GE HealthCare have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish strategic cooperation in clinical training, scientific conferences, and medical research.

The signing ceremony took place during the 2025 International Science Conference themed “Sharing Knowledge – Global Integration”, co-hosted by Nghệ An Friendship General Hospital and Bạch Mai Hospital in Vinh City on May 16–17.

The conference featured 147 presentations from medical experts from Việt Nam, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, the US, Mexico, the Philippines, India, Germany and other countries.

GE HealthCare served as the event’s main sponsor, marking the beginning of the partnership.

Representing Nghệ An Friendship General Hospital at the signing, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyễn Văn Hương, the hospital’s director, expressed strong confidence in the collaboration. He noted that GE HealthCare’s ongoing training programmes in diagnostic imaging from basic to advanced levels, as well as clinical training courses, will enhance medical expertise at the hospital and across central Việt Nam.

The hospital plans to host more scientific conferences and workshops to continuously update and advance the knowledge of healthcare professionals.

GE HealthCare will support these efforts by co-developing initiatives in key areas such as diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology, and critical care - fields aligned with the company’s leading medical technology expertise.

Phạm Hồng Sơn, country manager of GE HealthCare Vietnam, underscored the expansion of the partnership to include joint medical research.

Nghệ An Friendship General Hospital will play a pivotal role in generating data repositories and clinical evidence for GE HealthCare’s newly launched global AI-powered products, technologies and applications, as well as gathering expert evaluations from the hospital’s doctors to guide the company’s innovation programmes, he said. — BIZHUB
