AI startup Nami Technology and FUNiX Online Education have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in HCM City to apply ChatGPT and other AI solutions in online education.

Under the MoU, the two companies agreed on the roadmap and approached to apply ChatGPT and other major language models at FUNiX. Applications include a human-like voice bot that can answer students’ questions, garner feedback on service quality, and act as mentors’ assistants, enabling student support 24/7.

According to NamiTech Founder cum CEO Nguyen Thanh Lam, ChatGPT, as well as major language models in general, are technological breakthroughs with high potential for real-life applications. However, applying this technology, especially in languages like Vietnamese, requires extensive testing and fine-tuning.

NamiTech highly appreciates FUNiX’s pioneering spirit and openness to this new technology. The company is confident that this partnership will help greatly enhance FUNiX’s service quality.

“FUNiX believes that we need technological solutions to scale," said FUNiX’s Chief Operating Officer, Le Minh Duc. "Partnering with NamiTech, we can quickly test multiple solutions and establish a suitable and flexible implementation roadmap. This is the most difficult hurdle when applying new technology.”

At the ceremony, NamiTech and FUNiX also signed a strategic MoU agreement on training and recruitment. NamiTech is to welcome FUNiX students for internship and to work at the company, participate in developing training programs, and send experts to act as FUNiX mentors, shortening the gap between teaching and learning.

NamiTech also announced a VND12.6 billion (US$536,387) sponsorship programme for FUNiX students. It includes a 1-year free access to Crystal Sound for more than 10,000 FUNiX students to optimize their learning.

NamiTech is a tech startup supported by FPT. It was founded in 2022 with a strong research team of leading engineers specialised in the digital signal, biometrics and natural language processing.

The company provides AI audio and language processing solutions, mainly catering to clients in the finance, banking and telecommunications sectors in Viet Nam, Japan and the US.

FUNiX is the first education institution in Viet Nam to equip all students with premium ChatGPT accounts.

It also hosted a ChatGPT Hackathon recently to encourage students to take advantage of ChatGPT in their learning. Cognisant of the technology’s potential in supporting students and speeding up operations, FUNiX has sought and found in NamiTech a partner to make greater use of this technology. VNS
