KIÊN GIANG — A significant meeting took place on February 20 between the working delegation of FPT Group and the People's Committee of Kiên Giang province, focusing on fostering investment in education and technology.

At the meeting, Nguyễn Thanh Nhàn, Chairman of the southern province of Kiên Giang, emphasised the province's potential for sustainable development, particularly leveraging its status as a tourist destination, Phú Quốc. Plans are underway to establish an open university in this area.

The provincial government encouraged FPT to consider establishing high schools and universities with unique identities aimed at attracting foreign students.

There is a strong desire from Kiên Giang's leaders for Phú Quốc to evolve into a hub for high technology, enhancing the region's profile on a national level.

FPT General Director Nguyễn Văn Khoa reassured the province of FPT's commitment to its development. Plans were discussed for constructing a university in Phú Quốc, including a scientific research center, aimed at training technological elites and nurturing high-quality human resources.

The Chairman assured that Kiên Giang would explore preferential policies and prime locations for FPT to develop a university with exceptional living and studying conditions, aiming for international quality standards. — VNS
