Food producer KIDO Group has returned to the confectionary industry after five years of absence with the launch of Kingdom mooncakes.

A Kingdom mooncake kiosk officially opened at Hoang Van Thu Exhibition Center in HCM City.

KIDO said this year there will be 17 Kingdom standard mooncake kiosks and 1,200 kiosks of other kinds of more common mooncakes located in HCM City, Ha Noi and in western and southeast provinces.

Kingdom mooncakes are also available at Lotte and BigC supermarkets in most provinces across the country. KIDO also fully exploits online channels (Tiki, Lazada, GrabMart and others) as well as agency channels, associations, and businesses.

Bui Thanh Tung, deputy general director of the KIDO Group, said: “The offering was set up at the beginning of the season and information is updated on our entire business system. Most large enterprises are making plans for mooncake orders, and a number of units have closed the deal with us. The relationships of our partners, and distributors in the oil industry and the ice cream industry have been exploited effectively. Production progress has reached about 40 per cent of the plan. We are constantly monitoring market developments to have a reasonable business plan."

With this return, KIDO wants to change the mooncake market. It will retain traditional values and Vietnamese flavor, and bring a breath of fresh air to its media image.

It has two main product lines: traditional mooncakes and high-end mooncake products.

In order for each cake to meet food safety guidelines and to comply with epidemic prevention, Kingdom mooncake production lines and equipment have advanced technology.

For the production stage, to ensure quality goals, KIDO uses an automatic production process with a Japanese technology oven system, a German and Dutch cake cooling line, and a Japanese packaging machine.
