The Japanese Business Association in HCM City (JBAH) has donated a water heater to Marina Picasso Orphanage in HCM City’s Thu Duc District.

Vo Thi Tuoi, manager of the orphanage, said: “The donation is helpful and meaningful for us, especially for the division where we provide care for newborns. They have a greater demand for hot water than others in the orphanage. With the new equipment, we will not have to wait for boiling water.”

In addition to the donation last on March 11, JBAH members played football and painted with the orphans in the village.

Lat year, JBAH donated US$38,000 to help underprivileged children, including orphans in Binh Duong Province and HCM City. They also built an inter-commune concrete bridge in Long An Province to make it easier for thousands of people to commute from isolated areas, enabling children to go to school safely.

JBAH has carried out charity programmes annually with a total fund of over US$878,000 raised from its members via charity fairs and other activities since 1995. — VNS
