Vietjet and Japan Airlines (JAL) announced on Friday that the two airlines will begin a codeshare agreement starting from October 23.

These codeshare flights follow a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on commercial co-operation inked between the two airlines in 2017. Under the MoU, they will offer codeshare flights on domestic destinations in Viet Nam and on international flights between Viet Nam and Japan operated by Vietjet.

Applicable routes operated by Vietjet include HCM City-Ha Noi; HCM City-Da Nang; Ha Noi-Da Nang, as well as Ha Noi-Osaka.

Codeshare flights are available for travel from October 28. Travel period for the Ha Noi-Osaka route will be from November 8.

The two airlines said they will continue to expand their codeshare routes in the near future, including other flight services between Japan and Viet Nam as well as JAL’s domestic flights, and Vietjet’s domestic flights.

Vietjet is the first carrier in Viet Nam to operate as a new age airline, with an expanding flight network across the country and Asia.

In addition to the airline’s high-quality services, diverse ticket classes, and affordable tickets, Vietjet also brings its passengers memorable flying experiences on new aircraft with comfortable seats and up to nine delicious hot meals served by the carrier’s friendly cabin crew, and many other attractive added-on services.

Meanwhile, Japan Airlines is the first international airline in Japan. It now reaches 349 airports in 54 countries and regions together with its codeshare partners with a modern fleet of 230 aircraft. — VNS
