The InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort won the award for Asia's Leading Luxury Resort at the 22nd World Travel Awards for the third consecutive year.

The InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort won the award for Asia's Leading Luxury Resort at the 22nd World Travel Awards on October 30.

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort won the award for Asia's Leading Luxury Resort at the 22nd World Travel Awards on October 30 at the InterContinental Grand Stanford - Hong Kong, for the third consecutive year.

The resort, located in the central city of Da Nang with the Sun Group for investors, was also honoured with three other awards: Asia's Leading Hotel Dining & Entertainment, Viet Nam's Leading Resort and Viet Nam's Leading Spa Resort.

The resort this year received the highest number of votes from over 650,000 travel professionals and high-end tourism consumers from around the world.

Since the opening of the resort in June 2012, it has become Viet Nam's leading resort, surpassing many other nominees.

The InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort is the hotel brand's first resort in Viet Nam. It offers many luxury restaurants, as well as high quality services, an M Club, movie theatres and various entertainment services.

The World Travel Awards, referred to as "The Oscars of the tourism industry," is an annual event to honour enterprises in the hospitality industry. After 20 years of operation, the World Travel Awards are recognized worldwide, with participation from more than 200 countries and attracting more than 1.7 million readers and 90 million TV viewers.

Sun Group is a leading company in the resort and tourism field. The company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the AccorHotels group on October 26. —VNS
