The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and KPMG in Viet Nam will continue to cooperate in developing high-quality human resources in Viet Nam, according to a recent renewal of their existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The new MoU on developing high-quality human resources aims to meet the new requirements of the domestic financial market, which is opening up to extensive international integration.
Under the framework of the three-year cooperation agreement, the two sides will continue to work together in creating favourable conditions in terms of finance and time for young talents who study ICAEW ACA programmes, in order to develop their careers in the fields of finance, accounting and auditing.
In addition, KPMG employees who are qualified members of other international accountancy bodies who want to upgrade their qualifications to ACA degrees and become ICAEW members also receive financial incentives from ICAEW when registering for the Pathways programme.
Also under the agreement, the two sides will coordinate to organise recruitment events at ICAEW recognised universities, including more than 20 leading economic and financial universities in Viet Nam. In addition, ICAEW will support KPMG in hiring KPMG Campus Ambassadors (one in each of the recognised universities) for the KPMG Campus Ambassador Program. ICAEW will provide financial support for KPMG ambassadors pursuing the International Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (ICAEW CFAB).
“I am very delighted to see that the cooperation between ICAEW and KPMG over the years has achieved many significant achievements in developing high-quality human resources. From the cooperation, more than 300 young people working at KPMG are studying ICAEW ACA - the world's leading prestigious international qualification in accounting, finance and business today,” said Mark Billington, Managing Director, International, ICAEW.
“The partnership with KPMG helps us contribute more to each individual's successful career, as well as contribute to building high-quality human resources for the Vietnamese financial services market” added Billington.
“One of KPMG's commitments during more than 20 years of operation in the Vietnamese market is to continuously contribute to the development of Vietnam's accounting and auditing human resources. We are delighted to continue to promote our partnership with ICAEW, providing professional development opportunities for KPMG employees,” said Warrick Cleine, Chairman & CEO of KPMG in Vietnam and Cambodia.
Since ICAEW has officially operated in Viet Nam, KPMG has become one of its important strategic partners. Over the years, the two sides have cooperated to implement many initiatives to jointly search for, train and develop high-quality human resources in the fields of accounting, auditing and finance. — VNS
