HSG received second-class medal

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) – Giant steel marker Hoa Sen Group (HSG) on August 6 received the second-class Labour Medal for its contributions to the country's economy and society during its 15 years of operations.

From a small company at the time it was established in 2001, the company is now one among the biggest steel makers in Viet Nam, accounting for 40 per cent of the steel sheet market share and 20 per cent of the steel pipe market share.

Currently, it runs eight factories and 200 distribution branches throughout the country.

HSG's products are exported to 65 nations and territories, reaching an export turnover of more than 1 million tonnes per year.

Hoa Sen has for years been dedicated to programmes helping disadvantaged people.

In the near future, the company said, they will organise a programme called "Cung Em Di Hoc", which aims to present 28,400 presents of school supplies to disadvantaged students throughout the country.

It also pledged VND10 billion (US$454,000) to support a start-up foundation that the company established with the HCM City National University.

Hoa Sen Group was established in 2001 and listed on the HCM City Stock Exchange from 2008. — VNS
