The large-scale outdoor international music festival Hoa Sen Soundfest 2023 is expected to attract more than 50,000 participants.

The information was released at a press meeting held in Ha Noi on Saturday.

The festival will take place on May 2 at Lam Vien Square in Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province. It is expected to include a performance by the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra, the most famous orchestra in Romania and among the best in Europe. The event will also have the attendance of famous artists such as My Linh, Tung Duong, Da LAB, Truc Nhan, and Ha Nhi.

The Hoa Sen Soundfest 2023 will be jointly organised by Hoa Sen Concert Company, the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Lam Dong Province and the People’s Committee of Da Lat City. It will be organised according to a completely new trend - a combination of traditional Eastern art forms and Western classical music.

Le Hoang Dieu Tam, General Director of Hoa Sen Concert Company said the festival is part of the main event series of Lam Dong Tourism Golden Week 2023 (April 27-May 3), celebrating 130 years of Da Lat's establishment and development (1893-2023).

The event aims to enhance the value of enjoying culture and music, contributing to putting Da Lat City on the list of "UNESCO's Creative Cities Network" as the city’s People's Committee is preparing documents to join this network.

The organising board hopes the event will also promote tourism for the city, he added.

The festival is expected to be broadcast live on Binh Duong Television and many local stations.

Speaking at the press meeting, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong highly appreciated the idea of organising the programme, as Hoa Sen Soundfest 2023 would bring together many types of music.

He said festivals help improve people's spiritual life. It is not only the spirit of international solidarity, but also promotes the image of Viet Nam to the world.

Hoa Sen Concert Company also signed a cooperation agreement with Ha Noi Opera House to bring art shows and international music events closer to the Vietnamese people.

Accordingly, in addition to Hoa Sen SoundFest 2023, the two sides will co-ordinate to organise a symphony concert "Hanoi-Rambling Viet Nam" to celebrate the Capital Liberation Day on October 10 at the August Revolution Square with about 300 performers to set a Guinness record; music-art show bringing together top orchestras and bands from South Korea, scheduled to take place on December 27-28 at My Dinh Stadium.

On December 30-31, Hoa Sen Concert will hold a Countdown Party to welcome the year 2024 at Da Lat Stadium with famous bands. — VNS
