Hoa Phuoc gets VietGap certification for pork

Hoa Phuoc Livestock Co Ltd belonging to the Hoa Phat Group has received Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices certification for its pork products.

Tran Anh Tra, its general director, said the company supplied around 5,000 pigs to the market, and from next year would supply pigs also for breeding besides beef and poultry.

Its pork products are sold at Binh Dien and Hoc Mon wholesale markets and a mini supermarket chain.

The company is looking for more distributors with its output expected to reach 20,000 pigs a year from next year and 150,000 by 2021.

Hoa Phat Group, one of the leading private industrial production groups in Viet Nam, entered the agri business in 2015.

Last year, it imported 500 great grandparent pigs from Denmark for breeding. — VNS
