A soju factory with an investment of US$100 million is being built in Liên Hà Thái Industrial Park, Thái Bình Province.
HÀ NỘI — HiteJinro, South Korea's leading corporation in the soju drink production industry, has broken ground in its first overseas factory in Liên Hà Thái Industrial Park, Thái Bình Province.
The plant will be built on an 8.2-hectare site, with 3.2 hectares allocated for production, office space and auxiliary facilities. The production line will feature cutting-edge automation technology from world-renowned brands like KHS (Germany).
If it goes to plan, the factory will be completed in November 2026, begin operating in 2027 and produce 70 million litres of soju a year.
Output will serve both the Vietnamese market and for exports worldwide.
HiteJinro CEO Kim In Kyu emphasised that this marks a historic milestone for the company as it celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2024. For the first time, HiteJinro has established a soju production facility outside of South Korea, selecting Liên Hà Thái Industrial Park as its inaugural international manufacturing site.
HiteJinro is committed to sustainable development by constructing an environmentally friendly facility, strictly controlling carbon emissions and optimising energy use.
Chairman of the Thái Bình Province People’s Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng said that the project serves as a testament to the province’s investment appeal and past efforts, while also creating momentum for future economic growth.
The chairman also commended HiteJinro for its strategic decision to build a factory with a total investment of $100 million in Liên Hà Thái, a pioneering industrial park in the Thái Bình Economic Zone.
In addition to investor returns and providing a boost to the province’s industrial output, the factory will create more jobs and higher incomes for local workers and increases Government tax revenue. — BIZHUB/ VNS
