HDBank won the award for ‘Domestic Retail Bank of the Year for Vietnam’ at Asian Banking and Finance Retail Banking Awards in Singapore last week.
The awards, given annually by Asian Banking and Finance, a prestigious financial magazine, honour banks that stand out with groundbreaking products and services.
The HCM City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank, as HDBank is formally known, is one of seven Vietnamese banks to win the award this year along with big names in the region honoured in various award categories such as ANZ, Bangkok Bank, Bank of China, DBS Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, and BDO Unibank.
The Domestic Retail Bank of the Year for Viet Nam award was conferred on HDBank based on its business results last year and the first quarter of this year in all areas such as operating scale, network, services and solutions offered to individual customers, utility products and services, contributions to the market, and evaluation by customers, with a focus on the retail segment.
The bank’s retail, consumption and SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) strategy targets leadership of the market with its unique advantage of having special eco-systems including aviation, consumer finance and supermarkets and outstanding M&A capabilities.
In the individual loan segment, HDBank had achieved double-digit growth as of the end of the first quarter of 2019 with products such as agricultural loans, business loans, car loans, and consumer loans against collateral. For the first time in the market, customers could get loans for buying Vietjet Air tickets from HD SAISON.
Besides, HDBank has also launched competitive interest rate programmes.
HDBank's deposit products are attractive to customers because of their diversity and flexibility, integrating savings and insurance and their wide range of terms.
Customers who make online deposits regularly participate in attractive promotion programmes.
Recently HDBank launched the new HDBank mBanking app with a modern interface, a range of utilities, rapid transaction processing speed, and 24/7 online support.
In recent years HDBank has been among the banks to achieve outstanding growth rates. Its assets increased 22-fold between 2008 to 2018 to VND216.057 trillion (US$9.3 billion), and it is in the list of most efficient banks in Viet Nam.
