FUNiX and Deakin University (Australia) have signed a co-operation agreement to facilitate studying abroad of Vietnamese students in Australia.

Accordingly, students would have 1.5 years online studying at FUNiX and 2 years at Deakin University in Australia. They will get both a FUNiX certificate and a bachelor's degree in IT from Deakin University.

Deakin is in the top one per cent of leading universities in the world according to Academic Ranking of World Universities 2020 and the world’s Top 100 in the fields of Computer Science, Engineering and Technology.

Speaking at the virtual signing ceremony, Prof Bas Baskaran, Associate Dean, Faculty of Science, Engineering and Build Environment, Deakin University shared his hope that the two organisations would further develop their collaboration into some of the post-graduate programmes, where people working in the industry can continue to upgrade their qualification by taking online programmes in emerging technologies. He remained optimistic about the trend of online education in a post-Covid world, and expressed the belief that FUNiX and Deakin would together introduce innovative, flexible online programmes to students in Viet Nam and Southeast Asia.

"FUNiX is a leading provider of online higher education programmes and we are delighted to be a partner in that mission. With an online learning platform and close relationship with the industry, models like FUNiX are instrumental in creating a great learning experience for students. That is the future of any learning environment,” he added.

Tran Dang Hoa, Managing Director of FPT Software which represents FUNiX said: “FPT has a presence in the Australian market for more than 10 years. The co-operation between FUNiX and Deakin means that FPT has not only co-operated with Australia in the IT sector but also in education.”

“The co-operation would be a foundation for Viet Nam and Australia to promote the development of high quality IT human resources,” he added.

Nguyen Thanh Nam, founder of FUNiX, said: “The co-operation is of great significance in helping find solutions to overcome challenges of the pandemic and bring value to learners. This is extremely important to the education community both in Australia and in Viet Nam.” — VNS
