The Red Cross campaign will this year raise funds from local and international donors to provide gifts worth at least VND300,000 ($14) each to 1-1.5 million people.
The campaign began in 1999, and has since raised more than VND4.5 trillion ($200 million) and given gifts to more than 17 million people.
FrieslandCampina Viet Nam has also donated more than VND3 billion ($133,333) over the last five years for another Red Cross programme to donate cows to poor farmers in disadvantaged regions. — VNS
