HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Auchan, a leading French retail group, yesterday inked a contract with Military Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (MIPEC) to get its first supermarket underway in Ha Noi, baodautu.vn reported.
The deal, as part of Auchan's planned expansion in the northern region, will enable the French company to open a 3,700sq.m store at MIPEC-invested Long Bien Trade Centre next year.
The online newspaper quoted Gilbert Infantes from Auchan as saying that his company is looking to set up 20 supermarket establishments throughout the north by 2020.
Established in 1960 in France, Auchan has to date operated 888 hypermarkets, 862 supermarkets and 370 trade centres worldwide. — VNS
