The Trinity Challenge (TTC), an organisation dedicated to finding innovative solutions for pressing health challenges, awarded the Grand Prize worth £1 million to the virtual veterinary platform solution Farm2Vet.
Farm2Vet is led by lecturers from VinUniversity (VinUni) and aims to address the issue of antibiotic resistance in veterinary medicine, which is one of the top 10 greatest global health threats.
The Trinity Challenge partnered with MIT Solve this year to focus on the challenge of "Antibiotic Resistance" and called on global scientists to propose solutions leveraging big data from low- and middle-income communities.
The Farm2Vet platform was selected as the winner out of 285 impressive solutions from teams across 57 countries. It received the £1 million (over VNĐ32 billion) prize.
Farm2Vet provides farmers with instant, easy, and low-cost access to reliable veterinary advice and support to encourage responsible antibiotic use in livestock, helping prevent disease outbreaks and antibiotic resistance.
The platform also empowers policymakers with early warnings to prevent AMR hotspots and connects safe production farms with businesses and consumers to meet global demands for quality and organic food. — VNS
