FrieslandCampina Ha Nam on Tuesday was awarded the Second Class Labor Medal from the Government for its contribution to Ha Nam Province’s socio- economic development.

The medal granting ceremony took place on the occasion of 10-year anniversary of the founding of the Dutch dairy company’s Ha Nam branch, which is part of FrieslandCampina Viet Nam.

Nguyen Xuan Dong, chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, praised FrieslandCampina Ha Nam’s output, labourers’ income and contributions to the State budget over the past 10 years.

He also praised the company’s contributions to the development of the country’s dairy industry and the province’s socio-economic growth. The company has also developed meaningful corporate social responsibility programmes in the locality, he said.

Dong said local authorities will continue to create favourable conditions for FrieslandCampina Ha Nam to invest and expand production in the province.

“This year will become a memorable milestone in the history of the development of FrieslandCampina in Viet Nam, not only because of today’s memorable event but also because this year marks the 45th year anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and the Netherlands,” FrieslandCampina Viet Nam managing director Arnoud van den Berg said.

In 2016, FrieslandCampina Viet Nam was granted the First-Class Labor Medal, which recognises the company’s efforts to develop sustainable business practices; its contributions to economic growth while also focusing on environmental protection and its pioneering social responsibility programs as well creating shared values for the community.— VNS
