Damaca Nguyen Phuong Joint Stock Company in Krong Nang District, Dak Lak Province on Wednesday successfully exported the province's first official macadamia consignment to Japan, one of the biggest buyers of the nut in the world.

The consignment consisted of around 2,200 boxes of macadamia that weighed more than six tonnes.

The macadamia will be exclusively distributed in around 180 supermarket chains throughout Japan by OLTY CO. LTD in December.

Otsuka Tokuro, director of OLTY CO, said that after the company received good reviews about the trial macadamia boxes that they had introduced to the market, the company signed a contract with Damaca Nguyen Phuong to bring them to Japan.

The Japanese company will also promote the macadamia product at Japan's biggest food exhibition in 2023.

They will also advertise and distribute this product to other retailers within Japan.

Luu Van Khoi, director of Dak Lak Department of Transport, said that by officially exporting the macadamia to the Japanese market, Damaca Nguyen Phuong has created new business opportunities for companies in Dak Lak Province.

“This will help macadamia farmers gain even more profits from now on,” Khoi said.
