Online platform, Cho Tot, has launched job posting platform Viec Lam Tot (www.vieclamtot.com) targeted at blue-collar workers.
At its launch in HCM city last week Cho Tot said it wants to cater to the job demands of more than 40 million workers in 2021-25.
Nguyen Trong Tan, its CEO, said: “For more than eight years Cho Tot has provided a smart and easy-to-use technology platform to millions of people, offering a variety of good deals from pre-owned items to cars and houses at a low cost.
“The launch of the Viec Lam Tot platform … will enable us to move closer to our mission of empowering people’s daily life by helping workers find more and better job opportunities with a one-touch application.”
In future Viec Lam Tot also aims to help workers improve their working skills, he said.
The company said to become an efficient and reliable jobs platform for businesses and workers, it plans to invest in technology and digital data to reduce the time and resources required during the recruitment cycle and ensure enterprises have a plentiful source of candidates.
It would also invest in strengthening partnerships with official and other agencies and training organisations to improve workers’ skills, it said.
Cho Tot was launched in 2013 as an online classified platform to help buy and sell goods and provide connected services for a variety of industries like real estate, motorbikes, cars, used goods, and jobs.
In the third quarter this year the labour market was severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The General Statistics Office of Viet Nam said the number of underemployed people of working age exceeded 1.8 million, the highest number in the last 10 years.
The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs said more than 17.8 per cent of businesses faced a labour shortage. — VNS
