Central Retail Vietnam, the Vietnam Red Cross Society Central Committee and local authorities where GO!, Big C, and Tops Market supermarkets are located have launched a ‘Tet Nhan ai’ programme that will give gifts to disadvantaged households to help them welcome a happy Tet (Lunar New Year).

The programme runs from December 20 to January 15 and at each location, the organising committee will give away 100 gifts valued at VND200,000 each, including necessities such as cooking oil, fish sauce, monosodium glutamate, sugar and confectionery, and an environmentally friendly bag to beneficiaries.

Nearly 5,000 gifts worth a total of nearly VND1 billion (US$42,593) will be handed under the programme.

Nguyen Thi Hong, CSR director at Central Retail Vietnam, said: “With our commitment to contribute to the prosperity of Viet Nam and improve the quality of the lives of Vietnamese people, as well as in the spirit of solidarity, we hope that the ‘Tet Nhan ai’ programme this year will contribute to bringing a complete Tet to families with difficult circumstances.”

This is the 14th year in a row that Central Retail has cooperated with the Vietnam Red Cross Society and partners to implement this meaningful Tet gift-giving programme, she said. — VNS
