HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Toyota Motor Viet Nam (TMV) yesterday introduced its new Camry Generation 2015, saying that it carries more advanced safety measures that make it more suitable for Vietnamese consumers and Vietnamese roads.
The car is currently being manufactured in 9 countries and territories including Japan, the north America, Australia, Thailand, Taiwan, Viet Nam, China, Malaysia and Russia and is sold in over 100 countries over the world.
First launched in Viet Nam in 1998, Camry has gained popularity fairly quickly with total sales of more than 38,000 units, accounting for over 80 per cent of the market share in Viet Nam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA).
It is considered one of the flagship models in Viet Nam's automobile market, the release said.
It quoted Toshihiro Nakaho, deputy chief engineer from TMC as saying the new car's target audience is "younger, savvier and more sophisticated".
Yoshihisa Maruta, President of TMV, said his company will exert more efforts in providing customers with a more attractive product line-up as the economic situation improves.
TMV has set itself a sales target of 420 new Camry cars per month, Maruta said. — VNS
