The key green project of An Phat Holdings (APH) – the PBAT manufacturing plant – was officially granted an investment certificate.

Located in the Dinh Vu Industrial Park in the northern port city of Hai Phong, the plant has a capacity of 30,000 tonnes per year. It is expected to start construction by the end of this year, with a 24-month construction period, and going into operation in early 2024.

Last July, it registered the intellectual property for two green material inventions, PBAT and PBS, becoming the sole owner of the technology to manufacture PBAT and PBS in Viet Nam.

Despite difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, APH still ensures the progress of this key project. The PBAT green manufacturing plant will be equipped with cutting-edge technology, producing products with world-leading quality standards. When manufacturing comes into operation, Viet Nam will officially enter the global green supply chain.

APH also announced that it signed a contract with the world's leading contractor – Technip Energies – for the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) services contract, the material inventions are also officially granted intellectual property rights.

Accordingly, the world's leading contractor is responsible for the overall design of the leading green material manufacturing plant in Southeast Asia of An Phat Holdings. Technip Energies' subsidiary in Southeast Asia, Technip Engineering Thailand, will implement the FEED package in collaboration with Technip Zimmer GmbH (Germany) office and is scheduled for completion in the last quarter of this year.

This is the first time Technip Energies has co-operated with a Vietnamese enterprise in the field of green materials.

Earlier, the group was successful with many key projects such as the Binh Son (Dung Quat) – Quang Ngai oil refinery; Nghi Son – Thanh Hoa; Long Son and Dam Phu My and other offshore production facilities in Vung Tau.

Dinh Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman and CEO of An Phat Holdings, said: “Choosing a famous design partner, APH expects to bring PBAT An Phat JSC to the level of the world's leading green material manufacturing plant. With large investment resources in technology, facilities and human resources, we want to prove that the supply chain of green materials is not only the strength of developed countries but also a developing country as long as we endeavour to do it.”

The strategic co-operation shows APH’s determination to invest in a large-capacity and world-leading green material manufacturing plant with modern technology and production lines. — VNS
