HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The American Home Vietnam, a member of assets management firm VinaCapital, has opened a 2,500sq.m building material and home decoration supermarket in Long Thanh District of southern Dong Nai Province, the first of a chain it plans to develop in Viet Nam to service domestic demand.
Dang Anh Cuong, the company's general director, said this American Home Long Thanh Depot one-stop shop is the first of at least seven his company plans to develop in the country's major cities such as HCM City, Ha Noi, Nha Trang and Da Nang between 2016 and 2020. There are a further 15 to 20 stores planned in the following 15 years, with a total investment of around US$40 million.
Andy Ho, managing director of VinaCaptial, which made investment into this ceramic tile producer in 2010, said it is one among the best investments of his company, citing its annual growth of 15 to 20 per cent. The Binh Duong Province-based company runs several plants on 60,000sq.m of land, providing jobs for more than 300 people. — VNS
