3 Mien called most popular noodle brand in rural market

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Uniben Foods Company's 3 Mien remains the most popular noodle brand in the rural market in Viet Nam, according to the latest report by the
market research company Kantar Worldpanel.

Food Market Report (P7 / 2016) by the Kantar Worldpanel said that in terms of numbers of products, 3 Mien brand, with 2 main product lines being "3 Mien" and "3 Mien GOLD", ranked first in Viet Nam's rural areas, with an over 26 per cent market share.

In terms of brand value, "3 Mien" reached more than 22 per cent of the country's rural market share, sharing the top position in the market with Hao Hao brand of Ace Cook Viet Nam. 

"3 Mien brand has become the public's favourite for its new, quality and delicious products at reasonable prices," said the market research company's report.

Meanwhile, the Kantar Worldpanel noted that Uniben and Ace Cook Viet Nam have been the two leading manufacturers with the highest consumption of noodle quantities in the rural market, basing their conclusions on consumer reach points (CRPs). UNIBEN now is in 8th place among the Top 10 most-chosen Vietnamese FMCG producers.

"Since September 2015 to date, Uniben's 3 Mien brand has been continuously the most chosen noodle brand in the rural market in Viet Nam", said Nguyen Huy Hoang, Business Development Manager - Kantar Worldpanel Vietnam.

"3 Mien has continuously gained in two – digit growth rates during the past two years, while the instant noodle market grew only a few per cent, or even showed negative growth," added Hoang.

Hoang also said Uniben has done well due to many factors, including its products, selling prices, distribution system, advertisements and promotions. The company has provided products that met consumers' tastes and were sold at prices the public could afford.

"We have focused our research on the traditional flavours and characteristics of the most popular dishes from the three regions of the country to create 3 Mien brand products that are rich in Vietnamese flavors and meet consumers' tastes all over the country", said Uniben Marketing Director Nguyen Ngoc Kinh Luan.  VNS
