Nam Thang Rach Gia JSC, a part of Nam Thang Group, has signed a contract and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GSM Green and Smart Mobility JSC to lease a large number of electric cars.

This initiative aims to deploy an electric taxi service in the southern province of Kiên Giang, specifically in the areas of Phú Quốc, Rạch Giá, and Hà Tiên.

The MoU signifies that GSM will support Nam Thang Company in transitioning its taxi service fleet from petrol cars to electric. This move will contribute to the promotion of environmentally friendly public transportation in the southwest region.

Before this agreement, Nam Thang Taxi already possessed the largest fleet of vehicles in Kiên Giang province, consisting of 600 vehicles operating under the brand name Phú Quốc Taxi.

As per the signed agreement, Nam Thang Company will lease 200 VinFast VF5 Plus electric cars in 2024. The delivery of these cars will be staggered, with 50 cars expected to be handed over in January 2024, followed by the remaining cars in the subsequent months. — VNS
