SAP, an enteprise application software provider will be able to help customers "make everything digital, programmable and smarter" through its use of a digital core, bold technologies of the future, and expertise in enterprise resource planning (ERP).
The digital-core approach is part of the company’s overall strategy to drive its innovation agenda and support customers’ digital transformation and journey to the cloud through its portfolio of solutions.
“As governments and businesses work towards a digitally-enabled ASEAN as outlined by the ASEAN information and communication technology (ICT) master plan 2020, we see plenty of opportunities for organisations from the public and private sectors alike to harness the power of data. In the digital economy today, data is the new gold standard for digital enterprises,” said Claus Andresen, president and managing director for SAP Southeast Asia.
The ASEAN ICT master plan 2020 was formulated and announced by telecommunications and IT ministers from ASEAN-member states in November 2015 during the 15th ASEAN telecommunications and information technology ministers’ meeting in Việt Nam.
The five-year plan provides guidelines for governments and businesses to drive the digital economy in ASEAN from 2016 to 2020.
Under Việt Nam’s latest master plan on IT development, the country aims to become a fast-moving, sustainable and profitable economy, with large export earnings by 2025.
The IT sector targets reaching a minimum growth rate of 15 per cent per year from now to 2020 in software, digital and IT services, and attracting more foreign direct investment projects in key fields, including electronic hardware and digital outsourcing services. — VNS
