Viettel, the military-run network operator, is offering up to 99 per cent discounts on international roaming services for subscribers to celebrate the ongoing Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) 29 in Malaysia.
Pre-paid and post-paid subscribers will only have to pay VND1,000 per MB for data while in Malaysia from August 19 to December 31. In addition, they will get 80 per cent off for calling or receiving calls in Malaysia and 65 per cent off international messaging rates.
Viettel is currently the largest roaming provider in Viet Nam, connected with more than 500 networks from about 200 countries and territories worldwide.
The firm previously announced that it would offer subscribers preferential international data roaming rates when they travel to Japan, the Republic of Korea and Australia up to September 15.
When using the data roaming services of the RoK’s SKT and KTF, Japanese Softbank and NTT Domoco and Australian Telstra, Viettel customers will only have to pay VND22/10 KB. — VNS
