IT Techmart 2018, the country’s first-ever showcase of information and technology solutions and equipment, kicked off in the capital city on Wednesday.
The three-day event showcases advanced technologies such as automation technology in agriculture, major data security solutions, cloud security, energy management solutions and robot technology, spreading over 40 pavilions.
The event is described as a good chance for research institutes, universities and enterprises to find partners, expand markets and transfer technology to enhance their business efficiency, said the National Agency for Science and Technology Information, the event’s organiser, in a statement.
In his speech at the event’s opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung said that as the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) has broken out all over the world, Vietnamese enterprises are witnessing the debut of new technologies, especially in the manufacturing industry.
At the same time, domestic firms need to improve their corporate governance, boost their productivity and raise the quality of their products while reducing investment costs, Tung said.
He added the application of the latest technology will help businesses improve competitiveness and effectively adapt to the new environment of the fourth industrial revolution.
A seminar discussing the development of the information and technology industry in the context of the Industry 4.0 and another focusing on technology management and the protection of intellectual property rights as free trade agreements take effect will be held alongside the event. — VNS
